Hitler Goes to Hollywood

Here's a story that I read:

On January 30, 1933, Adolf Hitler became the Chancellor of Germany, ringing in over a decade of fascist rule in his country and for much of Europe. William Dudley Pelley, seen above in a wanted poster from 1939, used that as an opportunity to start a fascism movement in the United States.

On November 17, 1810 Sweden declared war on the United Kingdom. The two sides were at odds for more than a year and a half, only finally reaching a peace accord in July of 1812, as formalized in the Treaty of Orebro.

Here's a story that I read:

Go to Vietnam and you’ll likely see the lizard, pictured right, on your dinner plate or on one of you companion’s.  For generations, the lizard has been consumed in the country, which makes it rare in a different sense: until recently, scientists hadn’t “discovered” the species.

Here's a story that I read:

Lake Peigneur is located in Louisiana, about 125 to 150 miles (200 to 250 km) west of New Orleans. If one visited it 35 years ago or so, you would have found a freshwater lake that, at its deepest, was only about ten feet (3 m) down, well-stocked with lots of fish appropriate for the environment.

Here's a story that I read:

Having a mentor is a great way to gain experience and knowledge that's not easy to gain from formal education. Ironically, getting the most out of your mentor doesn't come with a handbook. So we wrote one. Of course, you may wonder why you need a mentor at all. Simple! You don't know everything.

The most often shoplifted food item in the world, according to the Consumerist, is cheese. It can be expensive, it’s easily pocketed, and tastes good, too, but that’s not the only driving force.

What would you do with 500 cats? Well, build a home for them, of course.  Or in the case of Craig Grant, a build a whole city.  He’s the founder and proprietor of Caboodle Ranch, a 30-acre city located 100 miles west of Jacksonville, Florida.

Here's a story that I read:

If you were around in the 1990s, the above pamphlet was not an all that uncommon sight. Chlamydia, it gently educates the previously ignorant passerby, is not a flower. It is a sexually transmitted disease which, because the symptoms are often very mild, goes undetected for months.

Here's a story that I read:

A Custom tag is a user defined JSP language element. When a JSP page containing custom tag is translated into a Servlet, the tag is converted to operations on an object called tag handler. The Web container then invokes those operations when the JSP page’s servlet is executed.

A reader recently asked me if I can help him Red Team himself, to check his digital footprint and to know whether he was safe out there. My answer was a list of things that he can check and that if any of these questions raised concerns then we could take it one step further.

Here's a story that I read:

This is a Zen book, a philosophy work. While this is not a Red Teaming or technical book per se, I think if you are looking to really understand the mindset, the human nature and how to better yourself, this book has a lot of value.

Brainstorming is the starting place of all good ideas. From “What should we do today?” to “What’s our next company logo going to be?” brainstorming is what gets you going. And although it’s so important, sometimes it can be seemingly impossible to think up new ideas.
