Here's a story that I read:
Lake Peigneur is located in Louisiana, about 125 to 150 miles (200 to 250 km) west of New Orleans. If one visited it 35 years ago or so, you would have found a freshwater lake that, at its deepest, was only about ten feet (3 m) down, well-stocked with lots of fish appropriate for the environment.
