Fuel Mileage

Our major expense during this trip will be fuel. We are splitting the diesel that we are using in the Dodge 3500 that is towing the toy hauler (which holds the Motorcycles). Here, I'm trying to keep up with roughly how much fuel this trip requires and how much it costs us.

First fuel-up @ Watt Road in Knoxville
51,920

Second fuel-up @ Paducah
52,226

Approximately 32 gallons for 306 miles = 9.5 MPG

Third fuel-up @ Kingdom City
52,504

Approximately 33 gallons for 278 miles = 8.4 MPG

Fourth fuel-up @ Hamburg, Iowa
52,789

Approximately 34 gallons for 285 miles = 8.4 MPG

Fifth fuel-up @ Kearney, Nebraska
53,037

Approximately 27.5 gallons for 248 miles = 9 MPG

Sixth fuel-up @ Bridgeport, Nebraska
53,285

Approximately 27.5 gallons for 248 miles = 9 MPG

Seventh fuel-up @ Casper, Wyoming
53,510

Approximately 26 gallons for 225 miles = 8.6 MPG
